Some great horsemen say"the most determining factor in the quality of a horse is its mother".

Most horsemen will agree that a majority of horses are only "as good as their mothers."

Figures are recklessly tossed around in everyday conversation that the mare is responsible for everywhere from 50 to 90 percent of how the colt turns out and though no one has seemed to come up with the scientific answer, it is universal understanding among horsemen that a colt's mother is a very important factor when breeding. If you don't believe it, just check out prices of young horses in the sale ring. A majority of horses selling in the sale ring have great sires, but it is the dam that separates the high sellers from the mediocres.

If we were to choose one word to describe our mares, it would be "athletes". The mares in our barn possess enough physical talent themselves, to produce an "open" caliber foal. And that is what you need to compete today . . . in every division.
